In the Writing for Performance field

Crawling in the Writing for Performance field I stopped to play with words, to shape them in different type of writing.
I rediscovered old games like the letters, and I enjoyed writing them. It wasn’t difficult, I already knew the rules.
The challenge grew as we reached higher levels; a performed story, a dramatic monologue and then, a formal speech. I had to learn a new rule of ‘break the rules’, so as to write more as we speak. The freedom of beginning the sentence with ‘And’ or forming a sentence with just one word; because unlike the other formal writings, they give power to the speech. Looking inside me, I did have something to say to my audience. I wasn’t crawling anymore, but running in descent, giving vent to my feelings in a scream.
The hardest challenge was the song; finding the theme, the right rhymes in a language that is not mine. I slowed down.
And then, it was the time for the play script. I struggled for a good plot, for a play that would make the audience think, but in the end I did it.
I have indulged in the hope of being able to write. I don’t know if it is only an illusion, but let me enjoy it for a while yet.
